Detail: Synthetic, absorbable, multifilament braided suture, in a violet color or undyed. Made of a copolymer of glycolide and L-lactide poly (glycolide-co-L-lactide). The tissue reactivity in microscopic form is minimal. Absorption occurs through progressive hydrolytic action; Completed between 56 and 70 days. The material retains approximately 75% if its tensile strength by the end of two weeks, and 40% to 50% by the third week.
Color code: Violet label.
Frequently used in tissue coaptation and Ophthalmic procedures.
